Your Location Can Make or Break Your Event.

Your location plays a huge part in the success of your live performance. Make sure to take some time to decide where you are hoping to have your event take place. Are you hoping to have your performance in a swanky venue downtown? Or are you hoping to host something along the beach? Whatever option you choose will most likely bring in different types of crowds so make sure to spend some time thinking through this quesion.

If you are hosting an event for a certain audience, make sure to see where most of your guests are coming from. This might help you make a better decision. You can choose something close to some kind of public transportation or you can even provide a party bus to pick people up. All these are great options.

The Size of Your Space Can Impact the Live Performance.

When you are looking to choose a venue, remember that the size of your space can greatly impact the concert as well. It's not just about where the event is taking place, but the size really matters.

How many people are you hoping to come to this event? This estimated number will help you when searching for a great space. If your venue is too small and the performance is full, it will feel crowded and people will feel uncomfortable. If the location is too big and your event feels empty, people will feel awkward and want to leave.

Neither of these options is great. You want the room to feel 'comfortably full' so it feels like your guests are attending something great! Figuring out the right size for your venue can be tricky, but very important. Take some time to make this decision.

Amenities are Very Important.

If you are booking a venue for a concert or any type of live performance, there are certain things you will want to make sure are included in the package. Make sure to ask about these things before you sign a contract.

For the Artists

When it comes to a show, you will want to make sure your musicians or vocalists have everything they need to perform. Most band members will bring their own instrument; however, most venues should provide some kind of sound equipment for them to plug into.

You will want to ask the venue staff about speakers and plug-ins. Don't forget to schedule a sound-check as well. This can be added to your load-in time, but make sure to inform the event staff so their team is ready to go.

Another simple thing would be to know if there is some type of stage where the artists can perform. These may seem obvious, but can easily be over looked in the hustle and bustle of planning.

For the Guests

Don't forget about your guests! The people coming to watch the live performance are extremely important. Ask about furniture and seating. Are these things the venue will provide or will you have to bring in rented seating? Make sure to take a look at the restrooms to make sure there are an adequate number of stalls (especially for the women).

Some venues will have a bar and food service included, but many venues do not offer food service. If this is the case, you will most likely want to bring in some kind of caterer. Even if you are not providing a meal, snacks and drinks are always needed in any kind of gathering.

Our Personal Favorite

Well, we're a little biased about this one, but our personal favorite live performance spot in Los Angeles is Brickroom LA.

This 100-year-old building used to be the home of 'The Conga Room' back in the 90s. Now it is an event space that can be used for birthday parties, corporate events, and even live concerts (we've had a few recently!)

If you are looking to host an event, we would love to show you around our space. We do site tours every week because we want our potential clients to be able to see the space in person. It's even better in person!

We hope this article helps you find a great spot for your next event. Here is another blog to look at that might point you in the right direction. Happy planning!
